Pacific Coast Church is a Religious Science-based organization with a foundational philosophy that falls into the category of New Thought. Started by Dr. Ernest Holmes, the church’s philosophy is influenced by thinkers such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Walt Whitman, Henry David Thoreau and Emma Curtis Hopkins, New Thought also embraces aspects of Eastern teachings, especially Hinduism. A synthesis of man’s greatest spiritual concepts, New Thought accepts that the universe is an Infinite Mind and that there is nothing but God, or Universal Intelligence. Pacific Coast Church’s core teaching is that this Universal Intelligence is good, is governed by thought and works by a demonstrable law. The church’s mission is to “teach in a clear and practical way the ancient truth of One Source, One Mind, One Power, One Love, and so to build a spiritual community of like-minded souls grounded in this truth, who bring the heart to bliss and use the power of the mind to heal.”

As a religious non-profit, Pacific Coast Church relies on donations from the public in order to maintain its spiritual and educational services to the community.
