Wines and fine dining are abundant in Carmel and on the Monterey Peninsula. Carmel Attractions

Carmel-by-the-Sea and Pebble Beach play host to many 'world class' events—the AT&T Golf Tournament (formerly known as the Bing Crosby Open), the Concours d'Elegance which hosts a entire week of special parties, fashion shows, car auctions and a gathering of international car clubs, including many celebrity golfers and actors who all contribute to the charity fundraiser. The Pebble Beach Equestrian Center has a complete line-up of annual events that bring horses and riders from around the world to compete in these elegant and well-known gatherings.

Carmel Nightlife

Carmel has only just recently allowed 'live' music in the establishments in the village so many are exploring entertainment in Carmel. Mission Ranch has a popular jazz bar that has live music weekly and during their Sunday brunch with an incredible unobstructed view of Carmel River Lagoon and Beach. Of course, it helps to have Clint Eastwood as the owner and sometimes piano player as it is a 'locals hangout' many weeknights.

Carmel Real Estate

Carmel is well known for its beachfront homes and quaint "Comstock" cottages. The variety and style of architecture of Carmel homes extends from the redwood cottages of Carmel's Bohemian past to Carmel-stoned mansions with every modern convenience. Many of the older homes are zoned historical and therefore have considerations in remodeling or updating them as the city of Carmel has laws conserving their heritage. Carmel is the host city for the world famous Bach Festival held in July and August every year and brings hundreds of visitors to the concerts. These are held in the Carmel Mission, the Sunset Centre Theatre and in local churches such as the Church in the Forest. A Bach candle-light concert with a complete period baroque choir is only one of the many choices for the music lover in you. Carmel is hosting a new 'Concours on the Avenue' this year during the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach and the annual Carmel Art Competition happens every spring for the 'plein aire' painters and collectors.
